NYU has set up a purchasing program for Stata using the GradPlan Method 3, which means that you will pick up the software on campus after purchase and pay at special low price. To purchase stata go to the Stata gradplan site where you compare prices and versions available. From there, you can determine which version of Stata is right for you and then either purchase Stata online or via the phone at 800-782-8272.After you purchase Stata from their sales office, they will give you instructions on how to pick up your copy from the Politics Department, and they will contact the Politics Department with approval for your purchase. After the Department of Politics receives the approval, we can then give you the software when you come by the Department of Politics office during normal business hours. This process usually takes one to two business days from the time of your purchase. Any questions about Stata should be directed to StataCorp.

Faculty Orders:

Faculty can order directly through Stata, pay with a credit card, and be reimbursed out of their research monies. Or, faculy can let Diana Barnes know exactly the product they want, and she will order these directly from Stata and charge their faculty research account.
