American Political Institutions and Processes

Our Department has a vibrant American Politics concentration and we cover a lot of ground. Our faculty is diverse and pluralistic in the ways we ask questions about American politics. Our M.A. faculty specializes in American institutions, the welfare state, the justice system, public opinion, political campaigns and elections, political parties, and majority and minority rights. Our faculty uses a variety of analytic techniques and research methodologies, including statistical analysis, historical research, legal analysis, formal modeling, and institutional theory.

In addition to our faculty, the NYU’s regional centers and institutes are a vital source of interdisciplinary engagement for students who aim to obtain an in-depth knowledge of a given area. For a list of NYU Institutes and Centers click here.
